How do I receive a quotation?

By telephone, fax or request a quote online.

Do you have a catalog?

No – we are a custom manufacturer. We do have a brochure and samples of our products that we would be happy to send.

What if I would like to see samples first to insure they will stick or fit properly?

You can request samples from us.

What determines the price of custom printed labels?

The price is determined by quantity, material and the amount of colors and copies. The higher the quantity the better the price. For material, film is much more expensive than paper because film can adapt to specific factors and carries a longer life span than paper. Each color needs a separate plate, hence more set-up time and waste. A 4-color process label requires much more set-up time than a 1-color label. And finally, multiple copies take longer to run and waste more material due to stopping and changing plates and/or colors. You cal also request samples from us.

How do I know if my purchase order was received?

An acknowledgement is sent to you via email or fax confirming the price along with an estimated ship date. The acknowledgement is usually sent within 24 business hours from receipt of order.

Can I make changes once an order is submitted?

It actually depends on where your order is in the production process.

How do I check the status of my order?

Call, fax or email and we will be happy to give you this information.

How are my labels shipped?

For small runs Alcop uses UPS. We do ship Federal Express upon request, but our primary shipper is UPS. For larger loads, we use truck lines. If desired, the entire shipment can be shipped “blind” to your customer. Shipping is not normally included in the quoted cost of your labels.

How do I pay for my order?

New customers must complete a credit application first. Once you are an established customer, an invoice along with a copy of the packing slip and samples from the job will be sent to you. Invoices can also be emailed upon request. Our terms are Net 30. You can also pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

Do you design labels?

Yes we can or we can use your art files. You can Request A Quote or Place An Order online.

What is a proof and do I need one?

A proof is a way of ensuring that your art will be reproduced according to your requirements. If you request the proof, we typically will send a PDF file or a paper copy. Once approved, we will reproduce the labels according to the approved proof. Just remember that colors supplied on the proof are limited to the computer’s display, ink jet, color laser, etc., so colors will vary from actual production.

What is copy position?

Copy position signifies which direction the copy dispenses first. See our request a quote page for a picture of the 4 copy positions.

What are PMS colors?

PMS is the Pantone Matching Systems used worldwide as the standard for accurate color matching.

How long does it take to produce labels?

It varies by each job – different factors include quantity size of run; complexity of special requirements (such as materials, inks, dies, etc.) and correctness of artwork supplied and length of time on proof approval. Also how many jobs are already promised on the press that the job will be run on. An estimated ship time is given with the quote and then an estimated ship date is given with the order acknowledgement.
